I had a mentor. Everyone should. He was a kindly older gentleman that sold matchbook covers back in the 60’s.
He sat in his office and took nothing but re-orders. He was also part owner of a radio station in Las Vegas where I was “Chuck Baby on the Radio”, playing the part of the morning man and offering listeners music from John, Paul, George and Ringo, to name a few.
His mentoring led him to tell me: “My success in life is attributed to just one thing: Always talk to the head. Never to the feet.”
I built my broadcasting career, which consisted of owning radio stations, and Presidential Citations, on those words.
